Sunscreen for Backyard Play and Kids

June 8th, 2008 | Posted by | Category: Sunscreen | Tags: , , , , | No Comments

Many parents don’t even consider putting sunscreen on their children when they are going outside to play.  This is the most important time and children should have sunscreen applied before going out for just regular play in their own yard.  This is where they spend the most time in the sun.

It doesn’t have to be a trip to the park or to the pool when you apply sunscreen, always do it in the warmer months when your children want to go outside and play.  Some of the worst burns happen in just an hours play before lunch time.

Keep applying it at least every hour or so in order to continue your child’s protection from the sun’s harmful rays.

When going on a field trip with daycare or while at summer day camp you must make sure to apply it everywhere that is exposed to the sun before sending your child off for a day of fun or they may have a night of misery with a bad sunburn that keeps them from being comfortable while trying to go to sleep.

The best thing I’ve found for sunburn relief is good old Noxema.  A skin care product that is normally used to cleanse faces from oil and dirt works well to soothe the burn associated with over exposure to the sun.   having some on hand is always a good idea just in case you do allow your child to remain in the sun for too long without having the proper sunscreen applied before hand.

Protecting your children from the sun’s harmful rays will give them a better chance at not getting a skin cancer later in life.  In this day and age we need to do whatever we can to protect our children’s health for the future and applying sunscreen is one of those little things we can do now to help protect them.

Noxzema Skin Care Cream

This is a review of Noxema, the original cleansing cream meant for everyday use to control acne and oil buildup. This comes from an actual user of the product:

My family has used Noxzema for as long as I can remember. In, fact that would be about fifty years. The Noxzema that I know and remember is the little blue bottle that is now called Noxzema Deep Cleansing Cream Original.

When I was a small child and there was no such thing as sun screen products, my mother would lather my arms, shoulders and face with the Noxzema to cool down the sunburn I received during the day. Every night in the summer, I would go to bed in my little babydolls covered in Noxzema cream. It didn’t help to prevent sunburn but it was surely calming and cooling as I ached with sunburn.

When I was in my teens, I washed twice daily with Noxzema to combat blackheads and pimples. My skin always felt so fresh and clean when I patted down my face. The company commercials used to say that Noxzema used a greaseless formula and that was true because my skin did not feel oily after I had finished washing.

Nowadays, I use it to keep my elbows and feet soft. The skin at my elbow points gets very dry and actually tears. I rub a little Noxzema on the elbows each day and the cream keeps them softened. I also use the cream on my feet. I find that because I am in high heels all the time, my feet burn and the heels of my feet are cracked. The Noxzema cools the feet down quickly and moisturizes the skin.

Some of the features on the outside of the Noxzema box are:
deep cleans
removes oil and dirt
never greasy
leaves skin soft and smooth feeling

Noxzema is one product that has stood the test of time. Generations have used Noxzema and now the company has many complimentary products in the line.
