If the dry itch has a hold of you, take control of it using the following tips for relieving dry winter skin.

Lotions work but only for a little while.  Sound familiar?  Many of us suffer from the effects of winter’s dry heat.  We apply lotion only to find out in an hour or so the dry flaky skin has returned.

You can make it last much longer by using more of a creme type lotion or even a salve.  The thicker the lotion, the better it is for your dry skin.  Applying it within 3 minutes of your shower will give you a much longer period of time for the relief from dry skin.

If your face suffers from dry skin and you can’t find anything to make it go away, try using plain old Vaseline Petroleum Jelly at night while you sleep.  This will give your skin a healthy glow for the next day as well.  Don’t worry about it causing acne by clogging your pores, because at this point, your skin needs the lubrication that petroleum jelly offers.  You’ll soon find that you no longer suffer from dry flaky skin any longer.

Don’t worry, warm weather will be upon us soon and we will no longer have to deal with the dry skin of winter.
