Nowadays, there are a lot of choices for skincare products in the market and most of the currently available products contain many different types of chemical ingredients, which can potentially be harmful for all types of skin, not just sensitive skin. As we know, the skin is a very sensitive organ; therefore, we must be careful with it, since it requires the utmost care in maintaining it.
Medical or quasi-medical creams and ointments either do not contain or contain very little harmful chemicals, and will very rarely result in any long term negative effects on the skin. This is why medical creams are recommended and preferred over other treatment options. The medical creams keep skin soft, moist, radiant, and toned, which should be the goal you are after if you are looking into skin care in the first place. Since it is a compulsory to apply skincare daily, it is important to make sure that you’re using the right skincare. The basic rule is to know your skin type. A common misconception is to only judge your skin type by outward appearance, but this is the complete wrong way of looking at it. Instead, you should be considering what your skin is made up of. Of course, it is up to you to choose whether to purchase and apply chemical or natural treatment, but the natural way is by far the best way to go because it works with your body, not against it.
There are four types of skin categories: Oily, Dry, Combination, and Aging. Oily skin requires the use of a moisturizer which does not contain oil. Use of a moisturizer without oil can help prevent acne breakouts as well. Dry skin requires a stronger, thicker ointment or cream that would be applied at night. You wouldn’t want to walk around all day with a face full of dried up moisturizer would you? Combination skin is tricky, and normally requires a bit of both of the previous discussed regimes. Aging skin has been the hardest to fix, since many “cures” are ineffective for lots of people. Usually aging skin care cream is light and airy and will soften and plump the face so as to hid wrinkles and other blemishes caused by the natural aging process.
You also need to take these tips as a consideration instead of just practicing the normal facial skincare routine:
a. Do not just wash make-up away regularly, use the proper make-up remover.
b. Before choosing any facial skincare product, pay attention to your skin type and the environment.
c. Test products by applying them to a small patch of skin; do not start off by rubbing them all over your face.
d. Do not rub your skin too hard.
e. Use lotions with sunscreen (SPF Blockers), to protect your face from the sun.
Remember, taking care of your skin is important, but it will become a nightmare if you apply too many artificial chemical-based skincare products to it. This will normally result in your face getting worse, rather than getting better. To solve this problem, you have to switch over to the use of natural skincare treatment, in other words, skincare products that have all or mostly all natural ingredients. Natural skincare treatments contain oils and essences from beneficial plants, flowers, and other natural sources, that will not harm your skin. You will find that natural methods work much better.

Dry skin can be very uncomfortable and an eye sore. Depending on the extent of dryness, it can even lead to the upper layer of skin actually cracking. This can be painful. Dry skin is not something that should be ignored. Some people who are suffering from dry skin do not realize that alleviating the effects of dry skin does not have to be difficult or expensive in every case.
Hormones, dry climate, and excessive exfoliation are among the many sources that can dry skin can derive from.
The most common and least expensive treatment for dry skin is obviously a moisturizer lotion. Moisturizers are classified into 2 different categories, depending upon the way they treat the dry skin.
Moisturizing lotions that fall into the first category treat dry skin by preserving the moisture that is naturally already present in the skin. Vaseline is an example of this kind of moisturizer. Dry skin care can be treated from moisturizers like this because they reduce or eliminate the loss of natural moisture that the skin has, holding it in. They can easily be found at the nearest drugstore, grocery store, or probably even a convenience store and they are not expensive.
Secondly, the other category of moisturizers works by adding more moisture to the skin than what is already present. They pull moisture from the environment into the skin, therefore adding to the moisture directly into the skin and reducing the dryness. These are especially recommended for use where the climate is normally humid. Moisturizers in this category are called humectants, and they are not a “greasy” moisturizer. Greasy type moisturizers are not very effective for dry skin care.
Simply using a moisturizer is not enough for proper dry skin care. There is also the matter of using it correctly. It is best to cleanse the skin before using them, and apply them while the skin is still a bit damp. It is ok to exfoliate your skin, as it removes the dead skin cells, but be careful not to over do it. When you are cleansing your skin also ensure that you are not using a cleanser that contains soap because it has a drying effect.
Dry skin care should also include taking care not to overly expose your skin to the sun.
Avoid too much direct exposure to sun by using a hat or umbrella. Ensure that you are applying a sunscreen. You can also find moisturizers that will have sunscreen protection already built in. This is nice because by simply using your moisturizer you are also protecting your skin from the sun.
Dry skin care does not have to be difficult or expensive in every case. Simply using the above information and implementing it you can greatly reduce any dry skin normally. Of course, there are extreme cases that may require more. If your dry skin persists you may want to ask your doctor about it.
